Intervention

Mayflower Center knows that addiction does not only affect the addict. Alcohol and drug abusers do not exist in a world by themselves. Most drug abusers live within some relationship to their families, friends, or coworkers. Intervention is about professionally intervening with love, feelings and facts to motivate addicted persons to accept the help being offered them. Because unhealthy dynamics surround the addicted person, professional intervention is needed to break down denial and to keep focus with the addicted person and the family.

It is only in the most extreme of circumstances that the alcoholic or addict will voluntarily seek treatment. Rather, practicing addicts who have not been forced to face their addiction in a honest and forceful enough manner, so as to break through their denial, will stoutly maintain that there is no problem. Professional intervention provides the necessary impetus to force the addict to confront their addiction.

The Interventionists Mayflower Center works with utilize a proven method of working first with the family, friends and coworkers of the addict. When this group has come to one voice it is ready to take the meeting to the substance abuser. The message in this meeting is delivered with love, feelings and facts. When confronted this way the identified addict is less fearful of the message and hears what the group is saying. Our own research confirms that addicts are much more likely to make their way into treatment and recovery after an Intervention has been conducted in this manner.

Mayflower Center works very closely with a network of certified Interventionists able to perform interventions anywhere in the United States. Fees for intervention vary; please contact our admissions department with further questions.

Accompanying Transport

Our Interventionists can accompany the addicted person to Mayflower Center if necessary.
