Next Step - Extended Care

Mayflower Center also offers clients the opportunity to stay in treatment for an extended period of time. The Next Step program requires a minimum commitment of 90 days. This half-way house component is invaluable to the client’s efforts to put into practice all the new tools acquired, including newly developed life skills. Clients in Next Step continue to meet with their therapist, work on a treatment plan, attend three groups a week and are required to go to 90 meetings during; this phase. Clients are also required to work between 24 and 32 hours a week as well as do service work for their peers in the earlier phases of treatment.

During the initial 90 days in Next Step, our goal is to bring back or create a semblance of normalcy in day-to-day life. While continuing to explore themselves in individual and group therapy, working a rigorous 12 step program of recovery, and being of service to others, clients begin to slowly look toward the future. Schooling, careers, family restoration, couples counseling, and possible relocation are all carefully considered during this most critical time of treatment.
