Bryan Bowen, CAS, BRI I., Executive Director, Founder
Bryan began his work in the Addictions field after he overcame his own battles with addiction. In 1999 he founded Next Step Clean and Sober Living, which became a recognized premier operator of sober living facilities. Bryan next became a leader in the Interventions field. He is known as a preferred interventionist for the Betty Ford Center, Sierra Tucson, Hazelden and Caron treatment centers. Through his work and his personal experiences, Bryan has become a nationally recognized expert on Addiction Relapse.
Bryan took his body of knowledge and that of recognized leaders in the treatment field and began his work creating Mayflower Center. With the help of Dr. Ross Ziegler and Stephanie Brown, Ph.D. he wrote what has become Mayflower Center’s revolutionary Relapse Recovery Program™ (RRP). Mayflower Center has quickly grown in reputation as a Center that can work with difficult addicts who have been resistant to change and have become treatment savvy.
Bryan is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CASII) and Board Registered Interventionist (BRI I). Bryan has also served as an Instructor in the State of California teaching and training counselors for State Certification. Bryan has served as a Board member of the California Association of Addiction Recovery Resources (CAARR), and is a current Board member of The Helen Vine Detox Center.

Bill Lampl, Managing Partner
Bill is one of the founding partners of Mayflower Center. He brings decades of business management expertise, leadership, operational skills, and bottom-line contributions necessary to build a successful organization. As former President of Esprit de Corp., Bill managed over $200,000,000 of sales. His responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of daily operations as well as developing and executing creative marketing and licensing programs for the Esprit brand. Bill has also held President positions in Sales, Licensing, and Marketing for other successful apparel companies. Bill also founded a consulting business that specialized in New Business Development, Brand Development, Licensing, Merchandising, and Brand Management.

Ross Ziegler, M.D., Director of Medical Education
Dr. Ziegler is co-creator of Mayflower's entire treatment program, philosophy and oversees all medical protocol. Dr. Ziegler received his MD degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center; trained in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital-Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and Neurology from Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Ziegler is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practitioners, member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and California Society of Addiction Medicine. As a founding member of the Legacy Foundation, Dr. Ziegler was also instrumental, (collaborating with Jerry Moe, National Director of Children's Programs at Betty Ford Center) in the creation and publication of the book "The Children's Place...at the heart of recovery".

Dr. Michael Chiarottino, M.D.
As part of Mayflower Center's ancilliary staff, Dr. Chiarottino provides medical assessment and oversees our outsourced services network of nearby hospitals and detox facilities. Dr. Chiarottino received his medical degree from Creighton University. Dr. Chiarottino is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry.

Dr. Mark Schiller, M.D.
As part of Mayflower Center's ancilliary staff, Dr. Schiller is a graduate of The University of Chicago medical school and the Yale University psychiatric residency program. He completed a research fellowship at UCSF, where he is currently Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry. Dr. Schiller is a Past-President of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, a national physician association.

Stephanie Brown Ph.D., Consultant to the Family Program
Stephanie is a clinician, researcher, author, teacher and consultant in the field of addictions. She is known for the developmental view of addiction and recovery, a long-term model of change for the addict, the adult child of an alcoholic and the addicted family. Her research on family recovery forms the core of our family program. Dr. Brown is the author of “The Family Recovery Guide: A Map for Healthy Growth.” Dr. Brown is also a contributor to Mayflower's Relapse Recovery Program™ (RRP).

Sonee Weedn, Ph.D., Clinical Director
Dr. Weedn specializes in Axis II Disorders; CD/Alcohol, Comp Gambling, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, Sexual Addiction & Trauma. Dr. Weedn oversees all Psychological Assessment. Her modalities are Couples, Individual, Group, EMDR ,Experiential & Psychodrama. She believes in integration of spirituality into the therapy process.

Ben McCallister, MFT, Clinical Supervisor
Ben, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, manages all of Mayflower Center's Case Managers and day to day clinical program. Ben's experience includes 20 years of private practice, work as a Therapist at Onsite, Program Director for a 52 bed men's program in San Francisco and Clinical Supervisor for their Outpatient Program. Ben brings a strong commitment to alcohol and drug treatment mixed with a strong understanding of his own 12-step recovery.

Jim Goss, MFTi
Jim is a primary therapist at Mayflower working with individuals and groups and has conducted Mayflower’s psycho-education groups. Before working at Mayflower, Jim was the adult program coordinator for a Bay Area Outpatient Program, working with individuals, groups, couples, families and was his agency’s court diversion program liason. He has also been the adolescent program coordinator and juvenile drug court representative for the same agency. Jim is an ordained Episcopal vocational deacon and has done pastoral counseling at San Quentin State Prison and the women’s pod at San Francisco County Jail. He is active in Al-Anon and is a member of the Sovereign Amonsoquath Cherokee Nation.

Maxwell Keller, MFTi, Family Program Therapist
Maxwell's extensive backround and training in working with families strengthens Mayflower Center's ability to tackle addiciton systemically. Maxwell works closely with the clinical team and Dr. Stephanie Brown to identify systemic issues and help move families into recovery.

Amanda Stroud-Albert, Extended Care Counselor
Amanda has been an invaluable member of the treatment team working with Next Step Extended Care (Phase IV) clients. Prior to Mayflower Center, Amanda was the manager of Next Step Clean and Sober Living in Marin County for 4 years. It is very important to Amanda that she is able to share her personal recovery, since 2001, with clients at Mayflower Center.

Christian O’Donnell – Director of Admissions
Christian began working in the field of addiction in 2002 after battling through his own continuous relapses with the disease of alcohol addiction and chemical dependency. Christian worked directly with 40+ men and women as a House Manger for a Sober Living Environment in Mississippi. In 2004, Christian went on to further his career in the field by working as an Intake Coordinator for Sierra Tucson, a prestigious treatment facility in Arizona where he worked and trained for roughly 2 years. Christian was brought on by Mayflower Center in 2006 as Director of Admissions and is responsible for overseeing the review and evaluation of patient assessment for admission to ensure the appropriate procedures and policies are followed in compliance with current admissions protocol.

Alicia Morgan, RN
Alicia collaborates with the clinical team and doctors to provide superb health care to Mayflower residents. Additionally, she oversees detox monitoring, reviews vitals and regulates medication administration. Her background includes hospice care and work as a staff nurse at UCSF and Marin General Hospital. Alicia’s ability to establish a trusting relationship with the clients through her own recovery since 1992, enables her to provide utmost mental and physical care. She feels blessed to be working and sharing her expertise at Mayflower Center.

Rev. George L. McLaird: Spiritual Director
Rev. McLaird graduated from the San Francisco Theological Seminary, in 1968 with a Masters in Theology. He has served in four churches, the last being as Pastor of the Sausalito Presbyterian Church (SPC) for 26 years. He is currently Pastor Emeritus at SPC. Rev. McLaird has written “Parables of You” a collection of short stories, “Transformation is an Inside Job” about using meditation as well as day and night dreams as teachers, “The Marriage Maze” a collection of 50 tools for creating a healthy marriage. Rev. Mclaird has written nearly 2000 poems.

Phyllis Addison, Instructor
Phyllis offers an innovative, multidisciplinary, multi-cultural approach to music, movement and the healing arts. She leads groups and circles that offer healing and transformation through chanting, drumming and yoga. In addition to being a certified yoga instructor, Phyllis is also an award winning composer/songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist and dancer. She holds a BA in music composition and environmental science and an MFA in music from Mills College. As an active performance artist in the Los Angeles and Bay Areas, she has performed in numerous venues from the Los Angeles Theatre Center, The World Festival of Sacred Music, The Staten Island Institute of the Arts, New Langton Arts, the Gene Autry Museum and the Bowers and deYoung Museums.

Connie Cardenas, CNE, Office Manager, Bookkeeper
Connie joined the Mayflower Center staff in July 2006. She says she is grateful to be working in a community of recovering people as it helps strengthen her own recovery. Connie graduated from Bauman College as a Certified Nutrition Educator. |
