Relapse Recovery Program I

The first four weeks (Phase I) of treatment at The Mayflower Center are devoted to building a strong therapeutic relationship with our clients. Our goal is for each client to experience a significant internal and external shift in their approach to life. The foundation for this shift begins with the clinical approach in RRP I.

Our main treatment goals include:

  • Comprehensive and global assessment of the client
  • Investigation of all diagnoses and stabilization of medications
  • Establishing a formal Clinical Treatment Plan
  • Identifying and redirecting drug seeking behavior
  • Breaking down denial associated with current life situation
  • Identifying family patterns of addictive and co-addictive behavior
  • Implementing healthy client-family contact guidelines
  • Cultivating a safe therapeutic community
  • Integrating insights provided by referents
  • Establishing protocol with the professional referent(s)
  • Mining additional data from external resources
  • Identifying strengths and weaknesses associated with previous attempts at sobriety

RRPI provides an intensely structured treatment environment designed to lay a firm foundation for advancement to a less rigorous and more open treatment community. By identifying the maladaptive behaviors that historically have plagued the client, Phase I demands that our clients openly discuss the core issues that have inhibited advancement in prior treatment attempts. By starting to acquire a deep and true knowledge of one’s condition and practicing the early steps of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, the client begins to earn new freedoms that lead to Phase II.
